Although it was another hot day in Melbourne, Valérie walked up the aisle looking radiant and comfortably cool; apparently, the Rolls was air conditioned. As I turned to the altar, I thought "Wow, the Church has pulled out all the stops for this one!" You see, there were two priests up there. I wondered what it was about a union between Lavindra and Valérie that required the oversight of two men in impressive robes. Turns out one of them was Lavindra's uncle and the other was the parish's resident priest.
To cut a long story short, everything went very smoothly - characteristically perfect organisation by Valérie. There was a happy/relaxed vibe to the whole affair, and I had a lovely time.
Oh, and the dance floor went off! Mixing Mauritians, Sri Lankans and Aussies together made for polyrhythmic gyrations the like of which the world has never seen.
